the intimidating tbr tag

I am back at with my tag stealing ways. Well, to be fair, I haven’t stolen a tag in sometime. Since last year. insert new year’s joke here.

I saw this on Jamison’s blog and I thought hey, that looks like fun. So I have decided to do it. Because I can. Also, please go check her blog out. She is such a great blogger and her reviews are always so honest and thoughtful!

1. a book on your tbr pile that you haven’t finished

I feel like any book could go for this one. But I suppose I will go with the Queens of Fennibirn. I have completely caught up with Three Dark Crowns with the exception of a couple of prequels. Including this one.

2. a book you just haven’t had the time to read

There is literally so many books that I haven’t had the time to read. I still have the 6 (six) or 7 (seven) hauls of books from thrift stores that I haven’t touched yet but here I am, posting about a series instead. To be fair, I haven’t added a lot of my owned books to my tbr yet. I’m just lazy.

3. a book you haven’t read because it’s a sequel

So this one was kind of hard. I only add the first book of the series and add the second once I finish the first. Luckily, I found an exception with this book. I have the third, fourth and fifth book of the Pretty Little Dolls series. The one pictured is the fourth.

4. a book you haven’t read because it’s brand new

There are so many books that I haven’t read that have come out in the past few months. I worry about the hype and how it will affect the book. So I wait a few months for the hype to die down. This book is no exception. I wanted to wait to see if my trusted reviewers liked this book or not.

5. a book by and author you read previously but didn’t really like

This is another hard one for me. I tend to not read authors I don’t like. I managed to find one though. Orson Scott Card. He wrote Ender’s Game, which is my favorite sci-fi book. However, he has said some negative things about the LBGTQIA+ community and that isn’t alright with me. I don’t know how long ago this was or remember quite what was said but it left a sour taste in my mouth.

6. a book on your tbr pile that your just not in the mood to read

It’s not that I don’t want to read this, because I do and I own it, thus completing the series, for now. But Abby pissed me off to no end in the first book and I’m not really in the mood right now to deal with her crap.

7. a book on your tbr pile that you haven’t read because it’s enormous

This book is a monster at 902 pages! I just have to get into the right mindset to read something so big. Plus clear my schedule. I may be a fast reader but even 902 pages will take me some time.

8. a book on your tbr you bought because of the cover

Like I mentioned above, I haven’t yet added my books bought from my thrift store adventures to my tbr (the ones I haven’t read yet). Luckily, I managed to find this book. I really liked the cover due to its simplicity. Plus I have heard a lot of goods things about it. Also, I was lucky to pick up the whole series so I can binge read it when I get a chance too.

9. the book on your tbr you find the most intimidating

Stephen King is essentially a god in the writing community and in the horror community. I don’t want to disappoint a lot of people and not like his works hence why I haven’t read anything by him yet.

I hope you all enjoyed this fun and quick little tag. I know feel the pressure to actually read these books, especially since I own a handful of them. Maybe one day!

  1. I feel the same with Stephen King’s books. I’m currently reading my first ever novel by him and THE PRESSURE IS ON.

I had no Idea Orson Scott had said harmful things about the LGBTQIA+ community. I feel so let down, dissapointed and honestly kind of angry. I just used one of his quotes for a Tag and I don’t know if I would have used it had I known about this. It’s also a shame because Ender’s Game is also my favorite sci-fi book.

    1. My boyfriend adores Stephen King so I feel a lot of pressure to like him because the boyfriend wants me too. lol.

I wish I could remember where I saw this at. I know it was something about gay marriage being legalized. If I find it again, I’ll add it to this post. But yeah, when I heard that, my heart dropped. Ender’s Game means a lot to me and it sucked realizing that the author said some hurtful things.

  2. I’ve only read 2 Stephen King books and I really enjoyed them. Loved them? No, I didn’t love them but they were still great reads. I read Carrie and IT and gave both 4 stars. I started with Carrie since it was his first book and it’s really short (and I love the movie). I hope you eventually get around to reading some of his work.
