I really like stealing tags. 90% of the time, I am not tagged in them but I decide that they are good and I want to do them. So I take them and I feel no regrets. Not a single letter. (10 points to your House if you can guess what the line is from!)
Anyway. I saw this tag on dear sweet May’s blog and I decided that I wanted to do this. Maybe if I talk about my WiP, I might actually do something about it.
In my defense, I did a back story of the school, where my characters live at. Sooooo, you know. Progress, friends.
Alright. Enough rambling. Be sure to check out May’s blog and without further ado, here are the answers to her questions!
When did you start writing your current WIP and how far are you through it?
I started my WiP sometime last year. I just decided that one day I was going to write out something. I was bored and had plenty of time to do it. So I did.
As for how far I am, I am not very far. Only about 4 “chapters” in. I say that in quotations because they aren’t so much chapters but alternating POVs between my two main MCs. With a possible third thrown in because I’m dramatic.
Who/what inspired you to write about it?
I think my inspiration came from several books I was reading at the time. I don’t remember what they were but I think they were heist related/character driver books.
As for the who, that would be my best friend. He has been writing for as long as I’ve known him. One time, for fun, he wrote a short little deal about me. I was a time traveler. All I remember of that is I tried to shake hands with a car. Good times.
What is your favourite genre(s) to write and why?
Right now, I think it would have to be crime/heist. Which is weird because I do not read that genre often. Also I’m so in love with the friends to lovers trope and will find a way to work that into my WiP.
Which author inspires you the most?
Hmmm. That is a hard one. I would have said JK Rowling but I’m not digging her attitude right now. So I will go with Danielle Steel for her romance and Jodi Picoult for the way she write about morally grey subjects.
Name five random facts about your WIP.
These facts are going to be so generic because I don’t have a lot done.
∇ I have 4 MCs. Two of them have the spotlight and I might let a third one have a chance as well.
∇ My WiP takes place at a school and it’s run by the government.
∇ All my characters have code names and areas of speciality.
∇ One character has a love for poisons and potions.
∇ My WiP is in first person POV.
How do you deal with writer’s block?
I pretend my WiP doesn’t exist. It kind of helps. I have found that if I just ignore it and write when the moment strikes as opposed to forcing myself to write, I get more accomplished.

I wiped my eyes. I had to be brave like Alice. Alice wouldn’t sit here and cry if something had happened to me. She would have been already out the door and looking for me. That’s what I needed to do. I needed to go look for Alice. This place wasn’t doing enough.
Unfortunately, we, the students, were forbidden to talk about our missions with each other so I had no idea where Alice even was. This means I would have to sneak my way into Mission Control, hack the system and figure out where Alice was sent.
There was also another setback. I was terrible at hacking so I needed to find someone to help me. I got up from my bed and went to my closet to dig out my zebra print ballet flats. Of course, like everything in this school, my flats were so much more then flats. They were equipped with noise cancellers. Perfect for sneaking.
As I pulled them on, I thought about who would be willing to help me. They would be risking getting into trouble themselves. I didn’t want to resort to my BehaveMod to coheres someone but Alice was so important to me, that I would suck it up and do it. Even though the thought made me feel like I had butterflies in my tummy.
[Wow. I actually really like this little segment right here.]
Have you considered what a cover would look like? If so, describe please.
I actually haven’t even thought about a cover. It took me a couple weeks to come up with the title and even that is subject to change. I am a fickle fiend.
What techniques do you use to make each of your characters unique?
I have my code names and skill sets, like I mentioned above. I also have given each of my characters extremely different personalities. Alice reminds me of Resident Evil Alice, which I haven’t seen much of but from what I have I really enjoyed. Lily is more like me, personality wise. Zala is a kind and gentle soul who just wants to help his friends. Lucifer is a broken child.
What brings you the most satisfaction as a writer?
I guess it would have to be the thought of just writing. Like someone might actually like my ideas and relate to my characters. I think that is just awesome.
Oh look, here is the part where I have to list questions. Ugh. This part always sucks for me. I’m not creative with questions.
∇ Where do you get your inspiration?
∇ Care to share a little bit?
∇ What is the hardest part about writing?
∇ What is the easiest?
∇ Do you plan out everything you write, just write, or a mix of the two?
∇ Was writing something you always wanted to do or did it come later?
∇ Do you put yourself into your writing? Like do you give your characters traits of your personality?
∇ What was your hardest scene to write?
∇ What was your easiest?
∇ Tell me anything else you want about your WiP and I’m sorry for these horrible questions.
This is the part where I am supposed to tag people. Well, I am doing the old Lacy cop out. If you want to do this, go for it!
