my weekend away//April 13

Hello friends!

In case you didn’t know (I can’t remember if I posted it on Twitter or not), I went away for the weekend. It was absolutely much needed and I am feeling rested and relaxed. I am ready to tackle this blog, get it back into shape and finally catch up on my reading! I am so many books behind schedule for my GR goal and my Popsugar reading challenge, it’s not even funny and it’s stressing me out big time. I am trying but lord knows sometimes reading can be so hard especially when I get on Goodreads and see all the new releases.

Anyway, I just wanted to share, in a couple posts, what I did this past weekend. And of course, share what books I got! This will be split in two days. I’m not including Sunday because that is just travel day and I didn’t do anything but come home.

The Host by Stephenie Meyer

Avalon High by Meg Cabot

Four by Veronica Roth

The Wolf of Wall Street by Jordan Belfort

Red Riding Hood by Sarah Blakley-Cartwright

Catch-22 by Joseph Heller

Survive the Night by Danielle Vega

Ash Princess by Laura Sebastian: This one is a bit special. This is a sneak peak that I got when I visited a Barnes and Noble. I have seen this book floating around the reading-sphere and decided I wanted to see if I would like it. I have heard that it is incredibly polarizing with either extreme hate or extreme love.

Besides shopping for books at thrift stores, I also tried to find some clothes but no luck so far. Sometimes it’s hard to find good clothes at thrift stores. My mom was able to get some clothes so I am happy for her.

My sister found a prom dress along with shoes to match! It looks absolutely amazing on her and I can’t wait for her to experience prom. It was a great time for me and I know that it will be for her.

Mom, Sister and I had lunch at iHop which is always a great time. I am a breakfast for supper kind of gal and iHop pleases me immensely.

I also experienced a Party City for the first time. Sister and I were completely blown away by the huge selection of party stuff. I mean, they had just about everything! Sister and I could have spent hours and hours there. Mom found some stuff for Sister’s graduation party.

After this, we decided to go back to the hotel and relax. We all sat in the hot tub and just hung out and chatted. My sister visited with a friend, who came to spend the night with us.

Overall, it was a great day! I truly adore spending time with my family.
